So What is Fascia?

Fascia is a continuous three dimensional matrix of connective tissue which is found in different thickness throughout every structure of the body.  It surrounds our organs, bones, muscles, ligaments and so on giving us our shape and form.  It is not immune to stress both physical and emotional.  Over training, poor posture, repetitive strain, surgery, disease, emotional or environmental stress can  all have an impact and will overtime, reflect in the health or our Fascia and consequentially our overall health and quality of life.

What is Fascial Stretch Therapy and how can it help you?

Firstly (FST) is unlike other stretching.  It does not attempt to isolate specific muscles but rather targets the Fascia.  It involves 'romancing' the nervous system, providing a relaxing and pain free stretching experience to significantly improve flexibility by using multiple planes of movement and special techniques, rotations spirals and diagonals to lengthen and re-align fascia and create joint space. An initial consultation consists of the following-

  • A full posture and flexibility evaluation.
  • Treatment which is specific to your needs and that of your clinical condition.
  • An individually designed flexibility program for you to follow at home. All of which is reviewed as your flexibility progresses.

New Fascial Anatomy studies and research has radically improved understanding of this important structure of the human body. Stretch Therapy is new to Ireland with only a handful of trained therapist in the country.  It is a cutting edge advance in sports therapy developed in the US and now used all over the world by elite athletes for injury prevention and to enhance performance.

If you want to get the best from your body, or find your training has reached a plateau. Perhaps you want to get the edge on your competitors or simply achieve your full potential Fascial Stretch Therapy will help you get there.

Come and experience FST for yourself and feel the difference!
